2018 "Setting Sail" Oil Painting Exhibition

In 2018, Boyi International Art Club held its inaugural oil painting exhibition since its founding—Sailing Away. This exhibition showcased the collective creative achievements of the club's first cohort of members, serving as a concentrated presentation of teaching outcomes while also marking the club's first public exhibition to connect with audiences.

The exhibited works encompass diverse themes and styles, reflecting both the students' exploration of painting techniques and artistic understanding, as well as their initial attempts at personal expression. For many creators, this marks the first time their work has transitioned from private studios to public galleries, providing a comprehensive experience of the exhibition process, artwork presentation, and audience feedback through practical engagement.

As the club's inaugural collective exhibition, "Setting Sail" served not only as a showcase but also provided invaluable experience for subsequent teaching and creative endeavors. Through curation, installation, and public display, the club gradually established a practice of "using exhibitions to foster learning and creation," laying the groundwork for its ongoing exhibition series.

Looking back at the inaugural exhibition, its significance extends beyond the presentation itself, as it pioneered a sustainable model where creation, display, exchange, and growth mutually reinforce one another. It marked the beginning of Boyi International Art Club's artistic journey and provided enduring insights and direction for every subsequent exhibition.

Artistic Style

Mr. Li Quanfeng is an oil painter grounded in both Eastern and Western artistic traditions, possessing rich cultural depth and a contemporary sensibility. Having resided in Malaysia for over two decades, he has explored the fusion of Eastern and Western art within a multicultural environment. His works feature expansive visual spaces and brushstrokes that are spirited and unrestrained.By blending fluid, natural colors, he reveals a power that harmoniously unites elegance and harmony, pioneering new compositions and techniques. He synthesizes the rational formal beauty of the West with the expressive spirit of the East, forging a distinctive personal style. His still lifes, flowers, birds, beasts, and landscapes all draw viewers into the artist's soul, achieving a shared resonance and mutual appreciation, inviting them to partake in the joy of his art.

Mr. Li Quanfeng believes that art should transcend technique and form to become a resonance between humanity and nature, and between humanity and the soul.
